Head Coach - Varsity Gold
Cary was born and raised in Fort Maclead, Alberta, Canada. Be started playing hockey at four years of age. Except for a year of figure skating at age 6, Cary played for the local youth hockey program in his younger years. He played AA in Bantam and Midget age classifications. He went on to play two years in Juniors B while attending the University of Lethbridge, where he studied biochemistry math, with a second major in teaching. Cary moved to Houston in 2005 and to Dallas in 2006. He has played in A and B men's league since that time. He has been an on ice official since age 12 for Hockey Canada, eventually reaching level 4, which allowed him to be a lineseman in the WHL League and a referee for Midget AAA.

In 2013-14, Cary coached the Lightning Bantam and Midget Minor teams, with both finishing in the top four of the DSTHL Green Divisions. In 2012-13, Cary was the head coach of the Lightning Midget Minor and Bantam AA teams. His Bantam team won the Can/Am Challenge Cup in Las Vegas, as well as two other tournaments.
Previously, Cary was the Assistant Coach for the McKinney Lightning Midget Major team. He was also the Head Coach of the Northwest Junior Varsity team in 2009-10 and 2010-11. He was the assistant coach for the Northwest Varsity team in 2007-08 and the Northwest JV Gold team in 2008-09.
